Pedal Your Way to the Area’s Parade Homes 2017

Grab your bikes, and get ready to ride — on June 3rd Urban Acres will be hosting its 2nd Annual Urban Acres Parade of Homes Bike Ride.
Urban Acres has created four unique routes — varying from 19 to 32 miles in length — that will guide riders to food, drinks, and Johnson County’s finest new and remodeled homes.
How to participate:
Everyone is welcome!  All you need is an official Parade of Homes ticket, which will provide access to all homes and remodeling projects.
Riders can purchase a Parade of Homes ticket for $8 at Iowa River Power the morning of the ride or at Urban Acres office leading up to the event. Tickets can also be purchased at the Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association office located at 11 S. Gilbert Street in Iowa City.
Participants will use the ticket throughout the ride, and will receive punches at every house they visit. Bike racks built by Kirkwood’s Architecture, Construction & Engineering (ACE) Career Academy will serve as designated bike parking at each house.
Get ready to pedal!
The ride will be kicked off at 10 am at Iowa River Power with breakfast, drink specials, and giveaways. Riders can pick their route of choice and receive the official Urban Acres wristband which provides access to drink specials at participating local businesses. Geoff’s Bikes will have a tent set up to offer mechanical support to make sure that riders get off to a great start.
Choose your Route:
We’ve created four unique routes for you to choose from.
All of the routes are mapped on Google Maps and paper copies will be available on the day of the ride. Click HERE to view the maps. To choose your route on mobile, click “View Map Legend” and scroll down to see the different routes. Check the route you want to ride and uncheck the others. Tap the arrow in the top left corner and you’re ready to pedal! To go back to the route maps, click the three-line icon in the top left corner of your map and then tap 2017 Urban Acres Bike Ride.

Close out the day with live music and drink specials at Rocky O’Briens from 4–7 pm. Everyone, regardless of whether or not you participated in the ride, is welcome to join in on the festivities so bring your family and friends. NOTE: There will not be a shuttle service from Rocky O’Brien’s back to Iowa River Power Restaurant so please plan accordingly.
Attendees will have the opportunity to win bike jerseys, a gift card to Geoff’s, and this fun orange cruiser! Enter to win prizes by dropping in a raffle ticket at each of our three Urban Acres swag stations during the bike ride – Iowa River Power Restaurant, Hilltop Tavern, and Rocky O’Brien’s. We’ll draw the lucky winners at Rocky’s and entries do not need to be present to win.
