A Place to Put Down Roots
For a small town just shy of 3,000 residents, Solon is growing fast! The Solon Community School District’s elementary, middle, and high schools are expanding, and the city boasts a state-of-the-art Center for the Arts, which houses Solon High School performances and community events.
With its substantial growth, Solon claims several one-of-a-kind shops and eateries. Big Grove Brewery serves craft tap beer and practices the farm-to-table concept, changing its menu with the seasons to accommodate fresh ingredients. Salt Fork Kitchen has a similar philosophy, working with local farmers to serve made-from-scratch, in-season food.

Once you’re ready to work off your meal, Lake Macbride State Park is just a short drive away for swimming, biking, boating, cross-country skiing, horseshoes, jet skiing, paddle boating, or hiking. Sugar Bottom Campground on the shores of Coralville Lake provides even more opportunities for outdoor recreation.
