Polly grew up to the soundtrack of circular saws, air nailers, and concrete mixers. Her father, Bill Halvorsen, now retired, was a general contractor of residential building who worked in Iowa City, Coralville, and surrounding areas.
For the past 28 years, Polly has been involved in new construction home builds and land development for several residential neighborhoods. She’s a residential real estate sales agent, a project manager for Mike Roberts Construction, and a builder herself.
Before earning her real estate license, Polly graduated from Iowa City West High School and attended Kirkwood Community College to pursue a degree in computer science. She was employed by the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in pediatrics, worked in administration for Home Life Health Services, and was one of the original owners of Love-A-Lot Childcare Center. Throughout Polly’s career, her life’s work has been in the service of helping others.
